‘Hi Infidelity’ 40th Anniversary – McNichols Arena in Denver
Hi friends, so forty years ago the Hi Infidelity phenomenon was in full swing. Thanks to you all, our tour was packing stadiums and arenas, the album had lodged itself at number one, our music was all over the radio, and MTV had made REO Speedwagon one of its core bands. This all culminated in the first live concert broadcast on MTV being our concert at McNichols Arena in Denver, forty years ago today. It feels like a long time ago, and also feels like yesterday. That is the beauty of music…it can transport us back to whatever point of our lives we were at when the music got into our bloodstreams.
Again, our thanks to the entire REO Fan Family for all of your support over the years. We go into a month of production rehearsals beginning in June, and if all goes well in the world, we will play our first show in Romeoville, Illinois on July 1. How awesome to resume playing live just outside my hometown of Chicago, co-headlining with our favorite other Chicago band: Styx. We have a lot of work to do, as we have never taken eighteen months off, but we will be ready to rock you with a new show, some songs you have been requesting we play, and renewed energy.
I feel the world is a better place now than it was in March of 2020. Positive things are happening all around us, and our concerts will reflect that fresh energy. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces as we look out from the stage, and let music fill the world with love again.
