The Gateway Arch in St. Louis

written by REO Speedwagon

The Gateway Arch is a giant magnet. I am helpless against its gravitational pull, as it draws me here every time I come to St Louis. Maybe it has something to do with this great city being the first to connect with our music in the early 1970s. KSHE radio made REO Speedwagon one of its core artists, and inducted us as the first member of its Hall of Fame. We headlined Busch Stadium in 1978, long before most people outside of the Midwest even knew we existed. We recorded our Live, You Get What You Play For album here at Kiel Auditorium, and collaborated with our buddies Styx for a joint live album/DVD which was named Arch Allie’s in honor of this awesome monument. Tomorrow we will be with Styx once again, along with our pals Loverboy, playing our music for 15,000-plus St. Louis rock fans of all ages. We always look forward to our St Louis tour stops, as we go way back with the people here. I am psyched for Friday night…see you then. Much love…kc
