An Update from Kevin
Hi Friends, the tribute concert we did for our friend and neighbor, the late great Eddie Money was an emotional and exhilarating night. There were a number of highlights, including James Hetfield of Metallica singing a solo acoustic version of “Baby Hold On To Me”. His take put that song in a whole new light for me, and was such a profound moment in the concert. Naturally, Sammy Hagar (The Red Rocker) put his rocking stamp on “Shakin’”, and Mickey Thomas nailed “Walk On Water”, my personal favorite Eddie Money song, written by our old friend Jesse Harms. Dave and I put the REO spin on “I Think I’m In Love”.
Eddie is gone, but will never be forgotten by his friends and fans. The outpouring of love for Eddie has been so important to his wife Laurie and their children. Our love continues to go out to them, and this concert was an Eddie Money love fest. The concert is set to be televised on AXS TV on March 22nd. Do not miss it!
Meanwhile, I am back from my bout with the flu…it temporarily kicked my butt. Tonight we make up our show at Ruth Eckerd Hall here in Clearwater. My thanks to all of you who had to change your plans, and will be at the concert tonight. I promise I will give you 110%. The other show we had to postpone in Jacksonville has been rescheduled for July 23rd. We will be ready to rock you all as well. The rest of the shows on this run will go on as scheduled, as I am totally back. Playing for ten thousand plus people in Orlando yesterday was so much fun, and my voice is in great shape.
I am lucky that I got over the flu bug without too much discomfort, and kicked it relatively quickly. I followed doctor’s orders, rested, and took my medications religiously. Meanwhile, my hands have never been cleaner, I am mindful of using good sense when I interact with people I don’t know, and I am eating healthier than ever and getting plenty of rest. So I encourage everyone to use caution and common sense, but avoid acting out of fear. We will get through this coronavirus together. So have fun, and be careful.
Much love…kc
