REO in Chicago
Hi friends, here is the view from my hotel room in my sweet hometown, Chicago. I love this city so much. I cut my musical teeth playing the folk clubs like the Earl of Old Town, the Quiet Knight, the Bulls, and the many clubs on North Lincoln Ave. I was driving a Yellow Cab here when I got the fateful call from Gary Richrath which led to my joining REO Speedwagon. In 1981, in the midst of our legendary four-night sold-out stand at the old International Amphitheater in the stockyards district, we learned that Hi Infidelity had hit Number One, where it stayed for the next four months! I played solo acoustic in the shadow of the Picasso downtown, opening for President Clinton in 1996. I would be nowhere without the great people of Chicago, and no matter where I go, I am always grateful for being born and raised in this great city.
See you all in Tinley Park, where REO, Styx, and Loverboy will be blowing the lid off the joint. Looks like a perfect night for a big outdoor rock show! Much loveā¦kc
