Sammy Hagar’s Birthday Bash 2020 Virtual Experience

Hi friends, Sammy Hagar and I celebrated our birthdays together again this year, with Rick Springfield and Michael Anthony, plus the Circle’s Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson. Normally the annual Birthday Bash is held over a week of shows at Sammy’s Cabo Waco Cantina, in Cabo San Lucas, but this year things had to be adjusted to fit the times. A stage was set up in Two Harbors on Catalina Island, the audience was all in boats…and it worked!

Sammy and the Circle played a number of Van Halen songs, including a moving moment of silence before they launched into “Right Now”. With Eddie’s passing, the world lost an iconic guitar player, but Sammy and Michael lost a friend. Bruce, Neal, and I know the feeling all too well.

That said, the concert was a celebration of Sammy’s music, plus a couple of guest spots from Rick Springfield and myself. I miss playing with my REO brothers, and can’t wait to be back on stage together in your town!
